Silver Jubilee Report

The Silver jubilee Sub-Committee was constituted about 18 months back. A jubilee event comes once in a while and we were determined that our Celebrations should be unique. The program had to be chalked out to ensure that the celebrative atmosphere prevailed throughout the year without disturbing the academic of the school.

Having determined the contours of our plan of action, the actual programs fell into place perfectly. The ideas came in from all quarters, particularly from the President Sri Madan Daulatram, The Vice principal Ms. Vimala Mallappa as well as the Principal Ms. Maitreyi Satyade. These ideas crystallized into the following activities.

The Logo

The first task, of course, was to design a Logo for the Silver Jubilee. After a lot of deliberation over the several alternatives the Logo was created and the lapel pin bearing the logo was also released by the president Sri Madan Daulatram at a function on 1st July 2006.

Press Conference

Sindhi Seva Samiti and Sindhi high school received good coverage by media for their Golden Jubilee and Silver jubilee celebrations respectively. A press conference was organized at KSCA on Tuesday 24th July 2006.

The walkathon

We decided to start with a bang on 29th July 2006 with all our students, parents, teachers & members participating in a Walkathon promoting Eye Donation. For the first time Sindhians, sporting attractive T-shirts and caps, made an impact on the Bangaloreans by walking the corridors of the important streets down M.G. Road, Cubbon Road and along Vidhan Soudha through Cubbonpark to kasturba Road. Chakshu, the Mascot was the star attraction. Chief Guest Pandit Sudhanshu Maharaji flagged off the Walkathon.

The Lane Discipline campaign

The following week students participated, again for the first time, in the Lane Discipline Awareness Programme. Standing at the major junctions of the city, it was a lovely sight to see the Sindhians promoting Lane Discipline through their communication and awareness campaign with assistance from the traffic police.

The Sindhians in Action
Between August and December 2006 the school was a believer of activity. The Confederation of Indian Industries organized a Youth painting Competition “Expression of Freedom” on Independence Day and the students brought to life their expression on the 30 feet long canvas. Creativity was in abundance at the project Exhibition. The cultural extravaganza “ Maa Tujhe Salaam” and “The Silver Jubilee Express” a Bharath Darshan to witness the folk dances of the country, were well received by the audience on the Annual Day. The special attraction at the Pre primary Sports and the Annual Sports was the very lovable Mascot-Jubilant Jubilee Jumbo. The Pre primary Cultural Fest saw the Kindergarten kids showcasing their talents. Dr. Shakuntala Narasimhan, ‘enriched and empowered’ the students on Graduation Day.
